We build our custom barbel rods on harrison blanks which are made in the uk to the highest quality and specifications. They cover all your barbel & specialist fishing needs , from the delicate harrison chimera avon 11ft 1.25 lb suited for chasing crucian carp , perch and tench on stillwater lakes. The 11ft 1.75 lb Torrix - the perfect tool for rolling meat on the Hampshire avon . All the way up to the harrison chimera no4 13ft 2.75 barbel rod best suited for fishing the mighty tidal trent , thames or wye severn rivers casting up to 10 oz of lead .
The prices & components
Custom barbel rod prices start at £300 , the average being £400-550 but can go higher , depending on the blank chosen , the quality of the guides and reel seat and then the amount of custom work required for your unique custom barbel rod to be truly special.
The materials,
Lets start with cork , when building your custom built barbel or specialist rod - if you want cork we go the extra mile , we do not use shop bought “off the shelf” ready made handles, we make custom cork handles from scratch using individual cork discs , each one perfectly bored to the exact size of the blank , leaving no voids underneath like pre made handles will do. They are lathed and sanded to the exact diameter needed .
Next the custom barbel rod resin components, these were invented by us , tested for durability by us over 18 months under all conditions resulting in the most beautiful and extremely durable parts . They can be made with wood , cork , paint or thread , giving endless options to make your custom barbel rod truly unique .The fish you see are metal 3d sculptures - not stickers !
REEL SEATS AND GUIDES
We use mainly fuji for the guides , and you can have simple or complex custom wraps to fix them to the blank , giving even more options to make a truly custom barbel rod. The reel seats we have lots of options , all of which can be found on our options list
